Outside the city, you'll find a region offering excitement of a different
kind. Camping, hiking, fishing, and canoeing in the Catskills and the Adirondacks,
swimming at the beautiful beaches of Long Island and the Jersey Shore, antiquing
and apple picking throughout the Hudson Valley are all within a couple of hours
of the city. Even further afield, New York State offers the majesty of Niagara
Falls, the serenity and natural beauty of the Chautauqua-Allegheny Region in
Western New York, and the waterfalls and wineries of the Fingerlakes Region.
