We meet most summer and entry-level associates through on-campus interviews. The law schools set the schedule and often provide the facilities, and we try to add a personal touch. Our on-campus interviewers act as team leaders for the schools where they interview and, in that capacity, continue to follow each candidate called back to the firm.

Our on-campus interviewers ("OCIs") build a team that leads our recruiting effort at each on-campus school. For example, Marc Hirschfield, and Chris Henry, two of our OCIs at NYU, originally helped recruit David Przygoda (NYU Law School ’04) and Crystal Lohmann (NYU Law School '07) to become associates of the firm, and now work with them as part of our NYU recruiting team.

On the staff side, our on-campus recruiting program is administered on a day-to-day basis by Alexandra Donahue, Kate Farren, Tibby Fogarty, Brooke Gadwell, Dawn Leo, Nicole MacKay, Rachel  McCullough, Christina Meincke, and Ashley Von Glahn, each of whom takes responsibility for a group of our on-campus schools and job fairs while Brenda Scheer serves as our fall master scheduler for all call-back in-office interviews. To help you learn more about the on-campus interviewer and the recruiting staff member responsible for your school, as well as general background about our recruiting program at your school, just click on your school where it appears in the list of our Fall 2008 Schools and Job Fairs.

We ask each candidate to bring to the interview a current resume and law school transcript. You may also submit a writing sample, but we do not require them for call-back decisions. Our goals are to learn about you: what led you to law school; how you are spending your time there; what practice interests you have; which of our offices you are interested in; and the reasons you want to work at Ropes & Gray.

As we do in all aspects of Firm Administration, we operate as a single firm in administering our Hiring Program. Thus, each of our on-campus interviewers is prepared to meet and interview candidates for any of our offices. Where a candidate has an interest in two of our offices, and his or her practice area focus is a good match for the work done in both offices, our practice is to consider the applicant simultaneously for each office. Similarly, our Summer Split Program offers certain summer associates the opportunity to divide their Ropes & Gray summer equally between two of our offices.
