If you are chosen for in-office interviews, we will work with you to set up a mutually convenient date for your visit. You will be asked to call a member of our recruiting staff to make the necessary arrangements. We normally ask candidates to plan to start their callback visit between 8:30 and 9:30 in the morning and to stay with us through lunch.

Lori Langhoff, left, and Beverly Williams, right, are the two Ropes & Gray staff members with primary responsibility for scheduling candidates for their callback interviews.

You should come on the scheduled day to the reception floor of whichever of our offices your callback will be occurring at. A receptionist or other staff member will greet you and provide materials about your interview day. You will also meet a member of the Legal Recruiting staff before starting lawyer interviews.

Rosa Parks, left, and Joanne Winters, right, work in our 36th floor reception area of our Boston office. Joanne is our 36th floor receptionist and Rosa works in our conference services department. Interviewees at that office can expect to be greeted by one or both of them.

The lawyers you interview with during your visit will include both partners and associates and will be chosen, in part, based on your practice interests. You can expect to interview with a member of our Hiring Group, as well as four other lawyers. As schedules allow, you will also meet again with your on-campus interviewer. Following the in-office interviews, we schedule all interviewees to have lunch with a couple of newer associates. Pictures and brief biographies of all interviewers are available by clicking Interviewer Bios. It sometimes happens that your interview day includes other lawyers, and their biographies appear in the Professional Directory section of the firm's main website.

From left, Brenda Godoy (New York University School of Law '04), Egan Cammack (Georgetown University Law Center '04), and Michael Kahn (Fordham University School of Law '01), are three of over 500 lawyers who make up our in-office interviewer team.

We make offer decisions as quickly as possible, usually within two weeks of your in-office interview. Decisions are made on a rolling basis throughout the fall, but factors beyond our control can influence timing, and we often make favorable decisions that take a longer time. You are welcome to call at any time if there is additional information to consider or if you wish to know about the status of your application. Throughout the process, your on-campus interviewer will serve as your primary contact with the firm.
